Saturday, March 6 Night of Music and Dance - MCAC Building - Washington Street, Williamston
Tuesday, March 9 – The North Carolina Symphony Children’s Educational Concert will be presented to all Martin County third through fifth grade students. Time: 12:45 PM Location: Martin County Auditorium. Using Teacher and Student Guides provided by the NC Symphony, classroom and music teachers will introduce students to the principles of orchestral music, musical terminology, the instruments of the orchestra, the musical compositions, and the composers included in the program. This will culminate in the live performance by the NC Symphony. Martin County Arts Council members are invited to attend the concert.

Fall 2007: The MCAC received a grant from the North Carolina Arts Council Grassroots fund and was able to award sub-grants to W.C Chance Cultural Center, Holy Trinity Catholic Church, and the Martin Community Players.
September 2007: MCAC membership drive netted 218 members, an increase of 73 members. We have 9 Life-Time members.
October 26: The Artistic Sampler featured work by renowned artist Warren Allin. Pianist Ellen G. Tyson and saxophone player Ben Windley provided entertainment. Proceeds go toward the renovation of the Flat Iron building. Approximately 135 people attended.
December 6: Carolina Ballet presented Dancers in Schools to all 5th graders in East End, Edna Andrews, E. J. Hayes, Jamesville and Rodgers schools. The dancers demonstrated dance basics at the barre, answered short questions, and taught students short dance routine. Attendance was approximately 300 people.
January 12: Christine Lavin in Concert. As award winning singer and songwriter, she presented a program of humorou, topical and incisive songs reflecting American life and culture. Attendance was approximately 125 people.
February 21: MCAC Fun Fund Raiser. A Dinner Dance at Deadwood featured Barney Conway and The Shadows. This was an evening of great food, fun, and entertainment. Proceeds went to the renovation of the Flat Iron Building. Attendance was approximately 108 people.
March 1: MCAC and the Bertie County Arts Council co-sponsored The Greenville Choral Society Concert Choir, which preformed a variety of musical selection. Tickets were $5 for MCAC members and $8 for nonmembers. Proceeds went to the MCAC program budget. Attendance was approximately 250 people.
March 10: Storyteller/Author Donna Washington performed for all 6th graders at Williamston Middle, Jamesville, Rogers, and Roanoke Middle schools. Her vocal pyrotechnics and dynamic physicality made her stories com alive and delighted her young audience. Attendance was approximately 375 people.
April 17: The North Carolina Dance Theatre (18 dancers and a 5 piece bluegrass band) presented Under Southern Skies for all 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders. MCAC members and local government officials were invited to attend at no charge. Attendance was approximately 950 people.
April 20-23: MCAC Annual Art Show and reception were held at the Flat Iron Building. 31 artists had a total of 112 pieces of artwork entered in the show. Attendance was approximately 85 people.
May 12: The Martin County Board of Education and the MCAC co-sponsored The Student Art Show of Blue Ribbon Winners, which was held at Martin Community College. Winning artwork is on display at the Flat Iron Building and will remain there for the summer. he winners and their parents were treated to a pizza lunch. Attendance was approximately 90 people.
June 26: MCAC fourth annual business meeting was held at the Roanoke Country Club.
July 14-18: Music and Dance Camp will be held at the Martin County Auditorium from 1-4 p.m.
